Roger Williams Calls for Defunding Planned Parenthood
“There is no justification for allowing federal dollars to keep pouring into an organization that has such disregard for human life.”
AUSTIN, TEXAS – Congressman Roger Williams (R-Texas) today met with the Austin Area Life Affirming Coalition board members and Austin Pregnancy Resource Center (APRC) staff to discuss women's health issues and how to protect the sanctity of life.
"Organizations like APRC are what lawmakers should be rooting for," said Williams. "Instead, Congress has awarded more than $500 million a year to an organization that actually alters abortion procedures to harvest fetal parts. Not only is this illegal under federal law, it is morally reprehensible.
"I am disgusted that an organization that is involved in such repulsive activity would promote itself as a protector of women's health. It's beyond hypocritical. It's deceitful and I believe, fraudulent.
