Roger Williams Introduces Last ‘Jumpstart America’ Bill

August 3, 2015

AUSTIN, TEXAS – Congressman Roger Williams' (R-Texas) has introduced the final piece of legislation in his seven bill tax reform plan, Jumpstart America.

"As a business owner I believe cash flowing American businesses should be Washington's number one approach to tax reform, but unfortunately that just has not been the case," said Williams. "Small businesses need relief now, and Jumpstart America is the most effective and immediate way to empower small businesses to grow and hire again."

Jumpstart America is supported by many in the small business community and by former Congressional Budget Office Director Douglas Holtz-Eakin.

"America's workers desperately need a pro-growth tax reform that will spur productivity growth, raise wages and provide real economic opportunity," said Holtz-Eakin. "In seven pieces of legislation Rep. Williams has laid out the elements of just such a reform."

Collectively, Jumpstart America lowers federal individual, corporate, payroll and capital gains taxes, makes bonus depreciation permanent, institutes repatriation and keeps LIFO accounting:
