Roger Williams Statement on CBO’s Obamacare Report

December 8, 2015

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Roger Williams (R-Texas) today released the following statement after the nonpartisan CBO (Congressional Budget Office) estimated "The labor force is projected to be about 2 million full-time-equivalent workers smaller in 2025 under the ACA (Affordable Care Act) than it would have been otherwise."

"While Monday's report is incredibly frustrating, it is not all that surprising," said Williams. "As a small business owner, I have said since Obamacare's creation that it is simply bad for business and creates government dependency. The Obama Administration has given Americans little incentive to work, and this trend will only continue unless this president's failed antigrowth policies are fully repealed."

According to the Bureau for Labor Statistics, the labor force participation rate is 62.4 percent, the lowest since 1977.
