Congressman Williams Votes to Protect the Unborn

October 3, 2017

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Congressman Roger Williams (R – Austin), voted in favor of H.R. 36, the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, which passed the House today.

"Protecting the unborn is critical to our core American values and it is our moral obligation to protect those who cannot protect themselves. I made a promise to the people of Texas' 25th Congressional District that I would vote with my conscience and use God's word as my guide. I have continually fought for pro-life rights, which is why I am proud to have cosponsored H.R. 36. I am a firm believer that life begins at the moment of conception, and this bill saves the unborn from an excruciatingly painful abortion if they are 20 weeks or more along. We still have a long way to go, but I am encouraged by the House passing this bill, and I urge the Senate to take this up as quickly as possible."
