Williams Votes to Ensure Military Readiness

May 24, 2018

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Roger Williams (R – Austin), who represents Fort Hood, one of the largest United States military installations in the world, released the following statement Thursday after the passage of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2019 (FY19):

"For far too long, we've expected our troops to do more with less. We've expected them to defend our country, at home and abroad, in substandard conditions with inadequate equipment. As the representative of the 25th District of Texas, I have fought on behalf of Fort Hood for an NDAA that will ensure military readiness," said Rep. Williams. "This legislation will directly affect our servicemen and women in Central Texas, and around the globe, by giving them the tools they need to fight and win. All of this is critical to keeping Americans safe, and I look forward to this bill making it to the President's desk as quickly as possible."
