Roger Williams appointed to Terrorism Task Force

May 25, 2015

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Roger Williams (R-Texas), a member of the House Financial Services Committee, has been selected to serve on the committee's Task Force to Investigate Terrorism Financing.

"Terrorist networks are no longer contained within the borders of sympathetic Middle East nations but are expanding across multiple continents," said Williams. "In order to combat this ever-growing threat to our homeland we must sever the head of the snake, and I believe taking out sources of terrorism financing will do just that. I am honored to serve on this task force because it will allow me to help carry out Congress' constitutional duty to provide for the common defense of the United States."

Representative Jeb Hensarling (R-Texas), Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, appointed Williams to the task force.

"Although he is a new member to the committee, Congressman Williams has proven to be of crucial importance because of his hard work, dedication and proven experience that he brings to the table," said Hensarling. "I look forward to Williams' contribution to the Task Force to Investigate Terrorism Financing, and I have no doubt he will continue to demonstrate leadership and insight."
