Immigration and Border Security

For too long, Democrats' failed border policies facilitated a historic invasion on American soil, devastating communities across the country. Today, law and order is back in America. Under Republican leadership, national security is a top priority, and law enforcement is empowered to do their jobs. The Big Beautiful Bill, passed by House Republicans and signed into law by President Trump, secures historic funding to finish the border wall, increase technology and surveillance capabilities, hire critical personnel, combat drug and human trafficking, and prosecute criminals. As your Representative in Congress, I am committed to delivering on the people's mandate to make America safe again.

Some of my work includes:

• Voted to fund the completion of the border wall.
• Sponsored critical border legislation:
  • The Make the Migrant Protection Protocols Mandatory Act (H.R. 551), makes President Trump’s ‘Remain in Mexico’ policy permanent and lays the groundwork to restore law and order by mandating those awaiting a court date do so from their country of origin.
  • The Identifying Potential Terrorist at the Border Act of 2025 (H.R. 2090) requires U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to screen and detain all individuals attempting to cross the border until it is determined that the migrant is not a match with an individual listed on the Federal Terror Watchlist.
  • Operation Lone Star Reimbursement Act (H.R. 1222), refunds Texas for the expenses incurred for securing the southern border under Governor Abbott's Operation Lone Star initiative.
  • Penned Letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi expressing significant concern about the ICEBlock app, which was designed to alert users of impending U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations.
• Voted in support of H.R. 1, One Big Beautiful Bill Act  that permanently secures our border by making the largest investment in personnel and infrastructure, including the completion of the border wall. H.R. 1 empowers ICE to restore law and order in our communities by removing the millions of illegal immigrants that entered the United States under the Biden Administration.
• Other historic bills to secure America:
  • Cosponsored H.R. 3859, The RIOT Act that mandates deportation and permanent inadmissibility for non-citizens, including illegal aliens, DACA recipients, and green card holders convicted of such offenses, and requires that they be detained throughout removal proceedings.
  • Cosponsored H.R. 885, The Drug Cartel Terrorist Designation Act, providing a framework for the Trump Administration to secure our southern border and stop the release of illegal aliens into our communities.
  • Cosponsored H.R. 318, The Border Safety and Security Act, which directs the State Department to designate Mexican drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations (FTOs).
  • Supported H.R. 4367,The Homeland Security Appropriations Act, 2025, which included $600 million in border wall funding.
  • Voted in support of Schools Not Shelters Act (H.R. 3941) to prohibit schools from receiving federal funds if the school is used to shelter illegal immigrants.
