Congressman Williams Writes Education Secretary Cardona Regarding High School Closure to House Illegal Aliens

January 24, 2024

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Tuesday, Congressman Roger Williams (TX-25) wrote to the Department of Education Secretary Miguel Cardona expressing concern and disappointment for the closure of James Madison High School in New York City to house illegal aliens.

“The closure of James Madison High School to house illegal aliens should concern every American,” said Congressman Williams. “School closures had a devastating impact on students during the COVID pandemic, from increased depression to lower scores. Our children should not be forced to pay the price for Biden’s failure to secure our border. I will continue to hold the Department of Education accountable to ensure no students are forced out of their school to house illegal aliens.”
