Dear Texans,

I hope all of you in our district enjoyed your Labor Day and were able to spend time with family and loved ones. Congress is back in Washington this week after spending the last few weeks in our respective districts and I want you all to know I enjoyed every moment of my time touring Central Texas. Our conversations were constructive and enlightening, and I cannot wait to put your words into action. Below is the recap of my previous week in Texas' 25th District:

It was great to be in East Austin and see firsthand the work being done by the Bookspring program. I am proud to be fighting for funding for this important organization.

It was an honor to be with some of our nation's finest heroes and personally thank them for their selfless service in the Vietnam War. Those who answer the call to serve are an exceptional kind and should be recognized as such. I was humbled to stand before them, and as their representative, I will continue to look after them, as well as all of our veterans. Click here for more.

I enjoyed meeting with members of the Burleson Economic Development team, as well as residents, business leaders, and city officials, earlier to talk about what they hope to see in upcoming legislation that can bolster the economy. I shared with them my goal of passing a new tax bill, Tax Reform 2.0, that will make tax cuts permanent for all Americans and cut the payroll tax for both employees and employers. Our economy is surging right now, and I look forward to continuing to strengthen it through pro-American, and pro-worker legislation. For more information, click here.

Businesses like Polyco employ hundreds of Americans and are a fundamental part of our economy. It was great to meet with their leadership and workers to learn more about their day-to-day operations. Click here for more information.

Visiting with constituents around our district is what makes August my favorite month of the year, and I am grateful I had the opportunity to spend time with the folks in the Cleburne Chamber of Commerce. For more info, click here.

In case you missed it: I joined Fox Business' Mornings with Maria to discuss NAFTA renegotiations with Mexico and Canada, and to remember U.S. Senator John McCain. Click here or on the video above to watch.

Legislative Update

This week: the Financial Services' Subcommittee on Monetary Policy and Trade, that I am vice chair of, will hold a hearing regarding the future of money tomorrow at 9:00am CT. Click here to tune in.

I have included some articles and releases you may find interesting located on the right side of this newsletter. It is an honor and privilege to represent the people of Texas' 25th Congressional District and as always, please reach out to me with any issues and concerns that are important to you.
