Come and Read It Report

On November 5, 2009, many of us remember exactly where we were when we heard about the unspeakable evil unfolding at Fort Hood. Fourteen innocent Americans lost their lives that day, including an unborn baby who never had a chance at life. Since then, our community has come together to heal and we have shown the world the very best of America. Our men and women in uniform put their lives on the line every day to protect our freedom and we will never forget the stories of our fallen brothers and sisters. On the 10th anniversary of the attack this week, we paused to honor their memory and ensure their legacies live on.

Service Above Self

It was a privilege this week to join the Cleburne Lions Club and Rotary Club as we paid tribute to our 25th District veterans who have put "Service Above Self." These men and women stood watch over our nation and changed the course of our history, and I'm proud to honor their extraordinary courage. We are the greatest nation on earth thanks to their sacrifice, and I pray we never forget that it came at a cost.

Remembering the fallen

Every year, Melissa and Barry Graddick of Glen Rose, TX donate their trucking operation to haul wreaths throughout the United States to cemeteries participating in the Wreaths Across America program. Last year, more than 1.8 million pieces were placed across the country thanks to the donations of professional truck drivers like the Graddicks hauling approximately 600 truckloads of wreaths. Their family embodies the American spirit of honoring our heroes, and it was great to learn more about their operation this week as we head into the holiday season.

Impeachment is hurting Texans

It's no secret that Democrats in Washington have been trying to reverse the results of the 2016 election and remove our duly elected President from office since the day he was inaugurated. Rather than passing bipartisan legislation and accepting victories for Texans, my colleagues on the other side of the aisle have turned Congress into a political theater to push their partisan agenda. Click here or on the image below for my interview with Fox7 Austin about the Democrats' distracting from real work for the American people.
