True bipartisan victories are rare on Capitol Hill, and we happen to be staring at one right in front of us: the USMCA. Instead of accepting this win for Texas and our nation, House Democrats are more interested in pursuing political theater in the hallowed halls of Congress. Each of the Democrats' star witnesses testifying during this week's impeachment hearings failed to produce any evidence of "high crimes or misdemeanors" committed by President Trump. Their baseless inquiry continues at the expense of passing legislation that benefits the American people.

I have been a vocal advocate for passing the USMCA since day one because everyone wins; Speaker Pelosi's admission that we may not vote this year is inexcusable. This deal must be finalized so that we can restore certainty for our workers, manufacturers and retailers, and our technology and agriculture industries in the 25th District. I hope my colleagues on the other side of the aisle will put an end to their political games and work for the American people.

Texas is Big Time

We're the greatest state in America and one of the best places to do business. I'm proud to work with President Trump on pro-growth policies that benefit our Texan workers and put American manufacturing first. Continuing Resolutions Hurt Our Military

This week, I voted against a short-term spending bill, or continuing resolution (CR), that funds our government through December 20, 2019. Rather than fulfilling our constitutional duty to fund the government by passing responsible legislation, we once again continued the cycle of wasteful spending at the expense of our national security. The harmful effects of the CR are hardest felt in our Armed Forces, where an unpredictable budget is damaging to our nation's readiness. Our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines put their lives on the line for our freedom and liberty, and we owe it to them and their families to do better. Click here to learn more.

Crime Fighter of the Year Award

It's an honor to receive the 2019 North Texas Crime Commission's Crime Fighter of the Year Award. I'm proud to partner with their mission to make our communities safer by bridging local, state, and federal task forces with businesses, education, the federal government and the citizens of Texas. This award serves as a reminder that we must pray for the men and women who put their lives on the line for us every day. They are some of our nation's greatest heroes.
