While Democrats remain fixated on impeachment in Washington, November's newly-released Jobs Report shows that 266,000 jobs were added to our economy last month and our national unemployment rate still remains at its lowest level in five decades. These results far surpassed expectations as job creators are have more freedom to do what they do best and wages continue to rise for our families. Once again, this proves that under President Trump's leadership our nation is wide open for business.

Pass USMCA Now

We need to do everything we can to build on our economic success, and one key step we can take is bringing our North American trade into the 21st Century. I was proud to join my colleagues from Texas this week calling on Speaker Pelosi to bring the USMCA to the House floor. We've been saying from day one that everyone wins under this deal: it benefits our farmers and ranchers, manufacturers, retailers, and tech industry. It's time to vote.

In our Financial Services Committee hearing with Treasury Secretary Mnuchin on Thursday, I asked him what steps Congress can take to keep unemployment low and boost our thriving economy. His response? "I would suggest you continue on bipartisan support of USMCA. That's the most important thing on the economic side that Congress can do between now and the end of the year." Our Military Needs A Defense Bill

For nearly six decades, Congress has passed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) in a bipartisan fashion, showing that despite all of the disagreement on Capitol Hill, we can and will work together to provide for our military. Sadly, this year's bill threatens an annual display of bipartisanship honoring our soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines. Click here for my op-ed in the Fort Hood Herald urging Congress to once again cut the politics and deliver results for those who defend our liberty every day.

God Bless Our Troops

On behalf of the 25th District, I was honored to join the American Red Cross for their Holiday Mail for Heroes event sending letters to our service members deployed overseas during the holidays. While we enjoy this season with our families, we must always remember they are protecting our freedom on the front lines, and we owe them an unrepayable debt of gratitude.
