Wednesday's vote to impeach the duly-elected President of the United States was truly historical.

However, its unique place in history is not for the reasons the Democratic party is so desperately trying to convey.

It will be remembered as the day that the Democrats, claiming a false moral supremacy over the desire of the American people, executed a deliberate and orchestrated plan to overturn a Presidential election.

It will be the first time in history that a party paraded out their ivy league academics to explain to 31 states and almost 63 million people, including nearly 4.7 million Texans, that their voices should not be heard and their votes should not be counted.

Despite the Democrats' urgency to rush this process through the House because of "national security concerns," Speaker Pelosi's threat to withhold sending the Articles of Impeachment to the Senate for a full trial, as is historical precedent, proves once again that this entire process is a mockery of our Constitution.

My colleagues on the other side of the aisle arrived at a partisan and self-directed fork in road, and chose the road never before traveled.

Donald J. Trump is our President, chosen by the American people. The Democrats' attempt to revise history will never change that.

May God bless the greatest country in the world, the United States of America.
