Thank You
Today marks an important day for our country as we pause to honor the men and women who committed their lives in service to our nation. It is a day to reflect on the blessings of freedom and liberty, bought and paid for by those who answered the call to arms.
Thanks to the extraordinary bravery of our men and women in uniform, the United States of America remains, unequivocally, the greatest nation on earth and a beacon of liberty for the rest of the world. To our veterans in the 25th District of Texas and across the country, I want to say ‘Thank You' for your courage. This generation, and the next, live freely because of your sacrifice.
Honoring our heroes
It was a great privilege this weekend to present our flag flown over the United States Capitol to the family of Medal of Honor recipient Sergeant First Class Finnis Dawson McCleery in Stephenville. SFC McCleery exhibited extraordinary bravery in Vietnam at the risk of his own life, single-handedly breaching the enemy's perimeter and eliminating several key enemy positions so that U.S. forces could advance.
I was honored to join some of our 25th District veterans in Burleson as we paid tribute to their sacrifice and heroism. Each one has transformed our history, and we owe them an unrepayable debt of gratitude for their service.
Have a blessed Veterans Day. May God bless Texas and may He continue to bless the United States of America.
In God we trust,
