Two Deals in Two Days

A striking contrast was captured on Capitol Hill this week: as Democrats gloated over sending their phony Articles of Impeachment to the Senate, Republicans were hard at work protecting the interests of American workers.

On Wednesday, President Trump negotiated a strong deal with China that protects our intellectual property, ends their practice of forcing U.S. companies to do business in their country, and levels the playing field so our farmers and businesses can compete fairly. It will be a boost for our businesses, manufacturers, farmers, and innovators, and rebalances our trade relationship after years of unfair practices from the Chinese. Though there's still work to do, I'm working side by side with President Trump to fix failed policies and deliver better results for Texans.

Shortly after the Chinese trade agreement was signed, the Senate overwhelmingly approved the United States Mexico Canada Agreement (USMCA), which I have vocally supported since day one. The deal creates hundreds of thousands of jobs across the nation, strengthens our relationships with our North American neighbors, and brings much-needed relief to industries across Texas. Now that it has passed the Senate, it goes to the President's desk to be signed into law.

The last year under this Democrat majority has been wasted with political stunts at the expense of taxpayer dollars and precious time. One thing is still crystal clear: while Democrats remain hamstringed by their hatred for President Trump, House Republicans are forging ahead and delivering results for the American people.
