Congressman Roger Williams announces winner of 2013 Congressional Art Competition
This week, U.S. Congressman Roger Williams (TX-25) announced the winners of the 2013 Congressional Art Competition, “An Artistic Discovery”.
Adison Haager, a junior at Hyde Park Baptist High School, was named the winner for her acrylic painting Pick of the Litter. Haager’s piece soon will travel to Washington, D.C. for display in the United States Capitol for one year. Haager also won free roundtrip airfare to the nation’s capital, courtesy of a partnering airline, to attend the 2013 Congressional Art Competition unveiling in June.
“It is my pleasure to congratulate these talented young artists,” said Williams. “I will be proud to see Adison’s painting hanging in the Capitol for all to see. Every student who submitted a piece should be proud and deserves recognition for their talent and hard work.”
