Congressman Williams Announces New Security Force Assistance Brigade at Fort Hood

May 18, 2018

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Roger Williams (R – Austin), who represents Fort Hood, one of the largest United States military installations in the world, released the following statement Friday after the United States Army announced that it will activate additional Security Force Assistance Brigades (SFAB) at Fort Hood:

"In an effort to reduce demand on brigade combat teams (BCT) and continue effective rapid response to national emergencies, we must provide our defensive line with the resources they need to ensure military readiness. After working closely with the U.S. Army on this issue, I am proud to report that ‘The Great Place' is receiving additional brigades to join them in Central Texas. SFABs will be a great asset to Texas and I am looking forward to welcoming them to their new home later this year."
