Congressman Williams Calls to Fund Border Security Using Money Seized at Border

January 19, 2024

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Thursday, Congressman Roger Williams (TX-25) introduced the Border Security Reserve Fund Act which establishes a reserve fund at the Department of Treasury to be used by border states and the Border Patrol to secure our border from illegal immigration. The funding for the account will come from confiscated drug money seized by Customs and Border Protections.

Each year, millions of dollars seized at our borders go unspent,” said Congressman Williams. “At a time where states like Texas are spending billions to protect their borders from dangerous illegal immigration, a job of the Federal Government, we should not allow any of these funds to go unused. We must provide relief to the already strained states that are forced to protect our borders while those in Washington ignore the crisis.”
