Congressman Williams Congratulates Rick Perry on Confirmation

AUSTIN, TEXAS – Congressmen Roger Williams (R–Austin) on Thursday released the following statement after former Texas Governor Rick Perry was confirmed as President Donald J. Trump's Secretary of Energy.

"Rick Perry is a trusted friend, veteran and hardworking public servant who I know will serve our country with honor as President Trump's Energy Secretary. I congratulate our former governor on his new role, and I thank him for his decision to answer the call to work on behalf of the American people."

Perry is the longest serving governor in Texas history, and Williams served as his secretary of state from 2005-2007.
