Congressman Williams Earns NFIB Guardian of Small Business Award

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Roger Williams (R-Austin), has been recognized as a “Guardian of Small Business” by the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) for consistently supporting issues of importance to small businesses and employees.

Rep. Williams earned a 100% voting record with NFIB in the 115th Congress. Votes in the U.S. House of Representatives included:

  • H.R. 5, the Regulatory Accountability Act of 2017
  • H.R. 720, the Lawsuit Abuse Reduction Act
  • H.R. 1628, the American Health Care Act of 2017
  • H.R. 3441, the Save Local Business Act
  • H.R. 1, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act
  • H.R. 1, Agreeing to the Conference Report on the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act
  • H.R. 620, the ADA Education and Reform Act of 2017
  • H.J.Res. 2, Proposing a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution of the United States
  • S. 2155, the Economic Growth, Regulation Relief, and Consumer Protection Act
  • H.R. 6311, the Increasing Access to Lower Premium Plans and Expanding Health Savings Accounts Act of 2018

Congressman Williams issued the following statement upon receiving the award:

“One of my missions in Congress is to support our small business owners and workers. In the past two years, I have voted to reform burdensome regulations, overhaul the nation’s outdated tax code, and assist with legislation that eased financial pressure on American families and businesses,” said Rep. Williams. “I am grateful for this prestigious recognition from NFIB, and I look forward to continuing to support Main Street.”
