Congressman Williams Introduces Bill to Protect Our Border from Terrorist Invasion
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congressman Roger Williams (TX-25) introduced the Border Security and Terrorism Prevention Act which would halt immigration functions at our southern border until the Department of Homeland Security can ensure that zero individuals on the terrorist watchlist are able to enter the United States.
“In Joe Biden’s America, millions of fighting-age men, human traffickers, gang members, and even terrorists have invaded our country, devastating cities, and states,” said Congressman Williams. “Given the recent attacks on Israel by Hamas, it is clear that Biden’s open border policies are putting American lives at risk by providing a wide-open border to our enemies. My legislation gives the Department of Homeland Security a ‘no excuses’ chance to reset their failed policies by halting immigration functions at our southern border until Sec. Mayorkas can ensure that no terrorists can enter the United States.”

Background:
Terrorist watchlist encounters at the southern border have grown uncontrollably since Joe Biden took office. In fiscal year 2020, only 3 individuals on the terrorist watchlist were apprehended. In fiscal year 2023, that number grew to over 150.
