Congressman Williams (R-Austin) was named a "Taxpayer Hero" for earning a score of 98% in CCAGW's 2017 Congressional Rating. He has a lifetime rating of 93% over the past five years.

The CCAGW scored 93 votes in the House and rates members on a scale of 0-100. Conservative victories in the House last year include:

  • Rollback of the Obama-era Regulations through the Congressional Review Act (CRA)

Congressman Williams issued the following statement upon receiving the award:

"As a small business owner for my entire working life, I know the importance of hard work and the value of a dollar. I have spent my entire time in Congress working towards a complete overhaul of our nation's tax code so that Americans can keep more of their hard-earned money," said Rep. Williams. "I am proud to be the voice of Main Street in Washington, and will continue to fight to cut wasteful spending and protect the interests of the American taxpayer."

CCAGW President Tom Schatz made the following comments:

"We applaud Rep. Williams for his work on behalf of the taxpayers while serving in Congress," said CCAGW President Tom Schatz. "His constituents should be extremely proud of his votes to cut wasteful spending and make government more accountable. We have no doubt that Rep. Williams will continue to fight government waste in the coming years."
