Congressman Williams reacts to Hasan death sentence
Today, U.S. Congressman Roger Williams (TX-25) reacted to the military jury's decision to sentence Nidal Hasan, the Fort Hood shooter, to death.
"Our nation has awaited this decision for nearly four years, and I am glad the justice system rightfully found Hasan's crimes against America worthy of this sentence. I sincerely hope this brings some solace and a sense of justice to the victims and those affected by his evil actions. But there is still work to be done. It's past time for the Obama Administration to label this attack what it really is - a terrorist attack. Now, more than ever, the victims of this terrible tragedy deserve the federal benefits awarded to troops injured in combat situations as they continually struggle to make ends meet while paying for medical care out of their own pockets. I will continue supporting and pushing for the passage of several pieces of legislation in Congress that will provide the relief, benefits and honor the victims have long awaited."
