Congressman Williams’ Statement on President Biden’s State of the Union

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Roger Williams (TX-25) issued the following statement following President Biden's State of the Union address:

“Tonight, Joe Biden addressed the American people in his final State of the Union, dismissing the painful reality that hardworking families and small business owners across the country know all too well. Under his failed leadership, America is less safe, less prosperous and less respected than perhaps any other time in our nation's history.

President Biden missed an opportunity for honesty and accountability. Instead, he chose to blame President Trump and House Republicans while doubling down on his lies.

Biden sees his administration’s failures as progress, but the truth is our nation is more divided and fragile than ever before. Our communities and the wellbeing of Main Street America come second to illegal immigrants and foreign countries.  The results of this administration have been devastating.

Biden has spent the past three years ignoring the cries of American families destroyed by his deadly open border policies, facilitating an unprecedented invasion of our country. He has blatantly turned a blind eye to the millions of families who are forced to choose between paying bills and putting food on the table. He has put the lives of our service members in jeopardy time and time again, focusing on woke recruiting and training, while bolstering our adversaries and embarrassing our nation on the world stage. He continues to lie and claim abortion equals healthcare.

If you are China, Russia or Hamas, you loved Biden’s speech. The reality we are living here in America tells a different story than the fictional address the President gave tonight. America is truly at a crossroads. Now more than ever, future generations are depending on us.

I will continue to fight on behalf of my constituents in TX-25 to preserve the principles and ideals that make America the greatest country on Earth: a secure border, a strong economy, a respected and feared military and an unwavering belief that that all lives are sacred.”
