Congressman Williams Visits with Marble Falls Small Business

February 20, 2018

AUSTIN, TEXAS – Congressman Roger Williams (R-Austin) visited with local Central Texas small business, Austin Turf and Tractor, this morning to meet with the staff and tour their facility. As a small business owner for his entire working life, Rep. Williams was able to discuss small business legislation and regulations, such as the new Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.

While on the tour of the facility, Austin Turf and Tractor Chief Financial Officer Nathan New explained to Rep. Williams that multiple employees have mentioned to him that they saw more money in their latest paycheck as a result of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act; one employee even said he plans to use his extra money to put into his 401k so that he can save even more for his retirement.

"Our local businesses are an integral part of our communities, and it is up to Congress to ensure they have the resources and support they need to keep their doors open and be successful," said Rep. Williams. "I visit with small businesses and employees in the district every chance I get to hear their concerns and let them know I'm fighting for their ideas in Washington."

Austin Turf and Tractor President Tom Loftus made the following comments:

"It was good to meet with Congressman Williams this morning. I believe the new tax bill will be beneficial to our company and our employees, as well as to the entire country by attracting more corporations to do business in the United States," said Loftus. "We really appreciated the visit, and hope that Congress can now get on with other important issues such as a major healthcare reform."
