Congressman Williams Votes to Protect Born-Alive Abortion Survivors
WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Congressman Roger Williams (R – Austin), voted in favor of H.R. 4712, the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which passed the House today with a vote of 241-183.
"As a God-fearing father and grandfather, mothers and their little ones are extremely close to my heart. I have always believed that life begins at the moment of conception, and the rights of the unborn are just as important as those who are born," said Rep. Williams. "H.R. 4712, that I am a cosponsor of, will require the same medical care for an infant born after a failed abortion attempt, as a baby born any other way. With the protection and empowerment of women in mind, mothers will never be held criminally accountable. As a steadfast pro-life supporter, I am proud to have voted in favor of this critical legislation, and look forward to continuing to support legislation that gives a voice to the voiceless."
