NRCC Names Congressman Roger Williams Chairman of the National Finance Committee

September 19, 2013

Today, the National Republican Congressional Committee named Congressman Roger Williams (R-TX) as its Chairman of the National Finance Committee. In this position, Williams will work with House Members and Committee staff in order to spearhead fundraising strategies and development, as well as donor outreach and strategy ahead of the 2014 election cycle.

"I am very excited that Roger Williams will be filling this important role in our fight to grow the Republican majority," said NRCC Chairman Greg Walden. "Roger's level of enthusiasm, knowledge and sense of teamwork is exactly what it will take for us to win next November. With Roger's help, I'm confident House Republicans will have the resources necessary to stay on offense."

Regarding Williams' new position at the Committee, House Speaker John Boehner said, "Families deserve better than the ‘new normal' of stagnant wages, rising prices and persistently high unemployment in the Obama economy. Roger's willingness to take on this important new role is just one more example of how House Republicans are stepping up to build the resources necessary to keep and expand our majority that's working to create jobs and opportunities for all Americans."

Majority Leader Eric Cantor said, "Roger Williams has a tremendous record of success when it comes to promoting conservative leaders and values. He is a great asset to our team and I am excited to be working with him."

Williams stated, "It is an honor and a privilege to work with Chairman Walden and the Republican leadership team as we continue to build upon the NRCC's impressive fundraising efforts. I look forward serving in this new role and expect many more successes. The 2014 mid-term elections will be crucial to maintain a Republican House as we are the last line of defense against this Administration's harmful policies."
