Rep. Williams Announces $6.2 Million FEMA Grants for Repairs from Storm Damage in Austin
AUSTIN, TX – Congressman Roger Williams (R-TX-25) today announced federal grants totaling $6.2 million from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to the Austin area to aid in repairs from heavy storm damage.
"Hurricane Harvey and subsequent storms have wreaked havoc on our community and while we have been able to rebuild much of what was damaged, there is still work to be done," said Congressman Williams. "I'm proud to partner with FEMA and the Administration to provide resources for further repairs and restoration of impacted areas in Austin."
Recipients in the Austin area receiving grants:
Texas General Land Office: $4,465,145.16
For repairs to the riprap revetment damaged as a result of Hurricane Harvey.
City of Austin: $1,761,548.40
For Emergency Protective Measures performed as a result of severe storms and flooding.
