Rep. Williams Applauds $235,085 Grant for UT-Austin’s Nurse Faculty Loan Program
AUSTIN, TX – Congressman Roger Williams (R-TX-25) today applauded a $235,085 grant awarded to UT-Austin's Nurse Faculty Loan Program (NFLP) by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The NFLP aims to increase nursing faculty nationwide with loans provided to nursing students who receive up to 85% loan cancellation in exchange for full-time post-graduate employment as nurse faculty.
"The Nurse Faculty Loan Program is vital to our nation's wellbeing, and I am pleased that UT Austin is receiving crucial funding to continue equipping future nurses to best serve their patients," said Congressman Williams. "I want to thank Secretary Azar and the Administration for their work to support a strong health workforce, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic."
