Rep. Williams: Army Selects Greywolf Brigade on Fort Hood to Receive Newest Abrams Tank

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Roger Williams (R-TX-25), a representative of Fort Hood, today released the following statement after it was announced that troopers with the 3^rd Battalion, 8^th Cavalry Regiment, 3^rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1^st Cavalry Division are the first to receive the newest version of the M1 Abrams Tank:

"Our warfighters deserve the most modern, state-of-the-art equipment to defend American interests across the globe. I am proud to be a voice in Congress for the men and women serving on Fort Hood and am extraordinarily proud that the Department of the Army selected the Greywolf Brigade of the 1^st Cavalry Division to field the newest M1 Abrams Tank. Tens of thousands of Soldiers and their families call Central Texas home and it is my privilege to not only be their voice in the U.S. House of Representatives, but to ensure that they have the best funding and resources available to fight and win our nation's wars."
