Rep. Williams’ Bill to Support CTE Jobs Passed Out of House
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Roger Williams' (TX-25) released the following statement after his bill, H.R. 7664, the Supporting Small Business and Career and Technical Education (CTE) Act, passed the House of Representatives by a vote of 399-18.
"Last night's passage of my bill advances the interest of CTE graduates who want to take a leap of faith and start their own small business,"said Congressman Roger Williams."This important piece of legislation ensures federal resources are being used to support entrepreneurs and connect businesses with qualified employees. Main Street America is the backbone to our economy, and I am proud to assist a new generation of small business owners and empower more people to achieve the American Dream. I urge the Senate to take up this bill immediately and send it to the President's desk to become law."

Background on Supporting Small Business and Career and Technical Education Act:
The bill will amend the Small Business Act to direct Small Business Development Centers (SBDCs) and Women's Business Centers (WBCs) to increase their services to assist small businesses in hiring graduates from career and technical education programs. The bill also supports career and technical education graduates by directing SBDCs and WBCs to assist them in starting up a small business.
