Rep. Williams’ Demands Democrat Action on Border Security

March 4, 2022

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Roger Williams (TX-25)sent a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi demanding she act on legislation to secure the border after President Biden acknowledged his Administration's homeland security failures. You can read the full letter here.

"On his first day in office President Biden took radical steps to reverse the most successful border policies of the Trump Administration. Biden emboldened drug cartels and human traffickers to exploit the liberal policies that encouraged illegal migration. This week, facing pressure from the American people who are fed up with his open-border agenda, President Biden finally admitted the migrant and drug crisis has exploded under his watch and asked Congress for a lifeline. Speaker Pelosi has since been silent, revealing her tacit endorsement of the liberal policies that led to nearly two million illegal migrants and the free flow of Fentanyl between the ports of entry in 2021. That's why I led 12 of my colleagues demanding Speaker Pelosi finally take action and call up legislation that will bring an end to this crisis, starting with H.R. 5294, my bill to make President Trump's "Remain in Mexico Policy" permanent. As global instability threatens the security and safety of the American people, we must not sit idly by while those who may wish us harm flow freely across the border without consequence."
