Rep. Williams Holds Virtual Townhall with TX-25 Small Business Owners
AUSTIN, TX – Congressman Roger Williams (R-TX-25) today hosted a virtual townhall with small business owners across the 25ht District to discuss available relief during COVID-19. He was joined by panelists Tom Sullivan, Vice President of Small Business Policy at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce; Laura Huffman, President and CEO of the Austin Chamber of Commerce; and Art Mann, Administrator of the Hillsboro Economic Development Corporation.
“Throughout the pandemic, it has been my priority to ensure our small businesses are able to survive and recover, and I’m proud to have supported programs like the Paycheck Protection Program that provide them with needed relief. Main Street America is the heartbeat of our economy and we need to do all we can to equip these entrepreneurs with certainty and confidence for the future,” said Congressman Williams. “I especially want to thank Vice President Sullivan, President Huffman and Administrator Mann for joining us today – their expertise is invaluable during this time as they serve Texans.”
The panelists praised Congressman Williams’ bipartisan Save Our Stages Act, spoke to the success of the Paycheck Protection Program, reported ways in which small businesses are adapting their services and the local resources available for business owners during the pandemic.
