WASHINGTON, D.C.Congressman Roger Williams (R-TX-25), a representative of Fort Hood, today joined Charles Payne on Fox Business News to discuss the latest on the Soleimani strike and President Trump's measured response to Iran's actions. Williams visited Iraq and Kuwait in May 2018, where he met with United States military personnel and inspected prepositioned stock, including equipment such as tanks, vehicles and weapons.

On killing Qassim Soleimani:

"He made a very measured decision taking out a terrorist that had blood all over his hands killing our young men and women, and he made the right decision."

"The President made the correct decision and now we're probably safer than we were if this […] terrorist was still around. I think they've made a bad calculation. The President has got to be able to lead; he's the Commander-in-Chief. He made a decision and I support him on that decision."

On visiting Iraq and Kuwait in 2018:

"I've been over there. I represent Fort Hood and I've been over in Iraq. I was there at the bases that were attacked, I've been in the embassy. I know about the weapons we have and how committed these young men and women are, and we have to stand with them. The President is doing that and I think he's showing great strength."

Congressman Roger Williams represents the 25th Congressional District of Texas, which includes Fort Hood and is home to the III Armored Corps. He serves on the House Committee on Financial Services.
