Rep. Williams Opposes Democrats’ $3 Trillion Spending Package
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Roger Williams (R-TX-25) today released the following statement after voting against the Democrats’ Health and Economic Recovery Omnibus Emergency Solutions (HEROES) Act (H.R. 6800):
“The COVID-19 pandemic requires a bipartisan response, like we have shown is possible, with focused economic relief for the American people. While Speaker Pelosi refused to bring the House back to Washington for weeks, she was busy writing a $3 trillion spending package behind closed doors that’s nothing more than a political stunt to change our election process, fund abortions, disincentivize reopening the economy, provide payments to illegal immigrants and bail out states. It’s a shameful display of political theater and Texans deserve better.”
Congressman Williams supported all previous bipartisan coronavirus response legislation packages signed into law by President Trump, including the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act and the Paycheck Protection Program and Health Care Enhancement Act.
Congressman Roger Williams represents the 25th Congressional District of Texas and serves as a member of the House Committee on Financial Services.
