Rep. Williams Stands Strong in His Defense of the Second Amendment

September 14, 2023

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Roger Williams (TX-25), Chairman of the House Committee on Small Business, joined Rep. Dan Newhouse (R-WA) and over 50 Republican colleagues in the introduction of a House Resolution to condemn New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham for her “emergency public health order” that prohibits the open and concealed carry of firearms in Albuquerque and its surrounding county, in violation of the United States Constitution.

It is almost every day now that we hear about yet another Democrat leader attempting to either ignore or sidestep the U.S. Constitution,” said Congressman Williams. “Whether it is with this order by Governor Grisham in New Mexico or by President Biden using the ATF to ban firearms, our Second Amendment is under constant attack by the woke left. I am proud to join my Republican colleagues in the House of Representatives as an original cosponsor of a House Resolution to defend the rights not just of the people of New Mexico but of all Americans because an attack on any American’s right to bear arms is an attack on all of us.”
