Rep. Williams Statement on Democrats’ USPS Conspiracy
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Roger Williams (R-TX-25) today released the following statement after voting against H.R. 8015:
“There’s an ongoing crisis in the United States of America, but contrary to the Democrats’ latest rallying cry, it’s not the United States Postal Service (USPS). It’s the COVID-19 relief package that Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her enablers are holding hostage in spite of continued cries from small businesses and families across the nation. The bill we voted on today was nothing more than a politically-motivated response to a manufactured crisis.
“We can find bipartisan solutions that address issues within the postal service to modernize it for changing times while simultaneously being conscious of the billions of taxpayer dollars that have been used to bail out the institution over the years. But a bipartisan solution can never be achieved if the premise of the debate begins with Democrats promulgating false information and caring more about handouts for the unions and trial lawyers than those who rely on their local post office.”
Congressman Roger Williams represents the 25th Congressional District of Texas and serves as a member of the House Committee on Financial Services.
