Rep. Williams Statement on House Passage of Democrats’ Partisan Police Reform Bill
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Roger Williams (R-TX-25) today released the following statement after House passage of the Democrats' George Floyd JUSTICE in Policing Act (H.R. 7120):
"I'm committed to working across the aisle to deliver meaningful reforms within America's police forces, but this week's display of hyper-partisanship will once again delay our ability to create change within our communities. What's most disappointing in this moment is the fact that both Democrats and Republicans fully agree that change is necessary following the tragic death of George Floyd, but Congress' refusal to let the legislative process work in this transformational moment is a disservice to his memory."
Congressman Roger Williams represents the 25th Congressional District of Texas and serves as a member of the House Committee on Financial Services.
