Rep. Williams’ Statement on NO Vote to Raise Debt Ceiling

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Roger Williams (TX-25) issued the following statementfollowing his NO vote to raise the national debt ceiling:

"Pelosi and Biden‘s move to raise the debt ceiling is an attempt to fund their extreme, left-wing $5.5 trillion tax and spend spree," said Congressman Williams. "Their spending plan will rise taxes on families and job creators, accelerate inflation, and fuel illegal immigration – all the while adding more debt onto the backs' of the next generation of taxpayers. Washington has a spending problem that we need to get under control and Democrats refuse to even attempt to get the country back on a path to fiscal responsibility."
