Rep. Williams' Statement on Passage of Build Back Better Act
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Roger Williams (TX-25) issued the following statement following the passage of the Democrats' Build Back Better Act:
"This morning, President Biden and House Democrats' relentless campaign to raise taxes, expand social welfare programs, destroy the oil and gas industry, and allow the IRS to spy on taxpayers finally came to fruition" said Congressman Williams. "The Congressional Budget Office debunked the insistent lies from Biden and Pelosi that this bill would cost zero dollars, confirming that Democrats' Socialist spending spree will in fact add more than $367 billion to the deficit. The American people deserve better than the Biden Administration's determination to crush main street businesses, levy new taxes on middle-income families, and drive up inflation to levels unseen in modern history. I opposed this disastrous legislation, and will continue to oppose any efforts from Comrades Biden and Pelosi to destroy capitalism and the freedom and liberty that American's are entitled to under the constitution."
