Roger Williams Discusses Overregulation, Dodd-Frank on Sirius XM Radio

April 1, 2015

AUSTIN, TEXAS – Congressman Roger Williams (R-Texas), a small business owner of more than 40 years and a member of the House Financial Services Committee, spoke with Tim Farley on Sirius XM's POTUS channel on Tuesday to talk about how one-size-fits-all regulations, like the Dodd-Frank Act, are hurting small businesses, community banks and credit unions.

"This one-size-fits-all the administration wants to put on America doesn't work," said Williams. "Can you imagine that as great as the Texas economy is, we've lost 115 banks? We need to let Main Street America grow again."

Last week, Williams published a column, How to Turn our Economy into a ‘Well-Oiled Machine,' where he argues that while one-size-fits-all regulations may have been well intended, the "cost of compliance is counterproductive when we should be encouraging investment in new research and more workers."

On Monday, Williams released a video message explaining how Washington's policies have made it harder for small businesses to grow, thrive and hire workers.
