Roger Williams Honors Burleson Veteran

BURLESON, TEXAS – Congressman Roger Williams (R-Austin) today honored a disabled veteran of the United States Navy, Mr. Hal Cleveland, by acknowledging his service and presiding over the installation of a new roof on his house which was donated by a local roofing company.
"Mr. Cleveland is an American hero, and his numerous tours of duty and accolades illustrate that," said Williams. "Many of us have not given what he has, so we are here to thank him for his service and show him our appreciation for his commitment to the community, Texas and the United States."
Mr. Cleveland, who still lives in the same Burleson residence he has for most of his life, served in Vietnam, Panama, Lebanon and Desert Storm. He was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal and Navy Expeditionary Medal. Mr. Cleveland graduated from Burleson High School in 1971 and joined the U.S. Navy in 1972. Mr. Cleveland is currently a service officer for the Veterans of Foreign Wars at VFW Post 6872.
