Roger Williams Statement on Missed Iran Deadline

April 1, 2015

AUSTIN, TEXAS – Congressman Roger Williams (R-Texas) today released the following statement after a Tuesday deadline in the Iran nuclear negotiations was missed despite President Obama's promise to have an agreement by end-of-March:

"The Obama Administration still has not learned that politically motivated, unachievable promises weaken the United States' position on the global stage," said Williams. "From missing this deadline, to ignoring his redline in Syria, to announcing the premature removal of U.S. troops from Iraq, this president has bargained away attempts to accomplish strategic objectives for positive election results and good press. While it has appeared to me from the start that our commander-in-chief is more interested in Iran's economic well-being rather than U.S. national security, I remind our president that no deal is better than a bad one."
