Roger Williams Supports Defense Initiatives in FY 2016 Budget

March 25, 2015

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Roger Williams (R-Texas) today voted for an amended budget proposal that would increase U.S. defense spending for Fiscal Year (FY) 2016.

"The fact is the Obama Administration's foreign policy has made the world less safe, and we have to plan for our nation's secured future with that in mind," said Williams. "From the spread of radical Islamist terrorists across multiple continents to the instability of governments in the Middle East, there is nothing more important right now than for Congress to fulfill its constitutional duty to provide for the common defense of the United States."

The amended budget proposal would increase the Overseas Contingency Operations account in the defense budget for FY 2016 to $96 billion, balance the federal budget in less than 10 years without raising taxes and fully repeal Obamacare.
