Roger Williams Supports Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act

May 13, 2015

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Roger Williams (R-Texas) today voted in favor of H.R.36, the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, which would prohibit abortions after 20 weeks of conception, except in cases of rape or incest or if the life of the mother is at stake.

"I believe all life is sacred and is a gift from God," said Williams. "Especially considering scientific studies have proven that unborn infants do in fact feel pain at 20 weeks, I believe it is our duty to be the protector of those who are unable to protect themselves. "

Williams voted for similar legislation, H.R.1797, in the 113th Congress, although it was never brought up in the then Democrat controlled U.S. Senate.
