Video Message- Roger Williams: The Burden of One-Size-Fits-All Regulations

March 30, 2015

“Inefficient, top-down regulations from Washington limit our choices.”

AUSTIN, TEXAS – Congressman Roger Williams (R-Texas), a small business owner for more than 40 years and a member of the House Financial Services Committee, today released a video message addressing the burden of Washington's one-size-fits-all regulations on job creators and community banks and credit unions.

"Inefficient, top-down regulations from Washington limit our choices," said Williams. "They make it harder for small businesses to grow, thrive and hire workers.

"Let's grow our economy; let's preserve consumer choices, and let's make it easier for hardworking Americans to achieve financial independence."

In his column, How to Turn our Economy into a ‘Well-Oiled Machine,' Williams makes a case that while these one-size-fits-all regulations may have been well intended, the "cost of compliance is counterproductive when we should be encouraging investment in new research and more workers."
