Williams Tours Local UPS Facility
FORT WORTH, TEXAS – Congressman Roger Williams (R-Austin) visited with employees of the United Parcel Service (UPS) to meet and tour their facility. Rep. Williams also attended a presentation ceremony for a $25,000 grant from UPS Foundation to Big Brothers and Big Sisters (BBBS).
"For over 100 years, the United Parcel Service has delivered countless packages to millions of Americans and others across the globe. Being the world's largest package delivery company, UPS provides thousands of jobs for hardworking Texans," said Rep. Williams. "Since Congress passed the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, companies like UPS are able to thrive again in this booming economy by reinvesting into their operations and hiring more workers. Additionally, UPS was able to give back to their local community – they awarded a grant of $25,000 to Big Brothers and Big Sister that will be utilized to recruit and train addition volunteers. This is great news, and I applaud the folks at UPS for giving back to young Texans."
The $25,000 UPS Foundation grant is being awarded to Big Brothers Big Sisters through an innovative UPS Foundation program that awards grants specifically to non-profit organizations where UPS people volunteer.
