Williams Votes for Bipartisan Capital Markets Reform Package

July 17, 2018

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Congressman Roger Williams (R – Austin), a small business owner for his entire working life who serves as a vice chairman on the House Committee on Financial Services, released the following statement after the passage of the JOBS and Investor Confidence Act of 2018:

"Small businesses make up 99 percent of American companies and employ almost half of our workforce. In 2012, Congress passed the first JOBS Act that focused on supporting growth in small enterprises, followed by the JOBS 2.0 Act that simplified overbearing regulations – both were huge steps for American entrepreneurs. For the United States to compete with the global market, we need to continue to sustain long-term economic growth, which starts with the passage of the JOBS and Investor Confidence Act of 2018. I encourage the Senate to quickly take up this strong package, comprised of 32 individual pieces of legislation, that passed out of the Committee with wide bipartisan support."
