Roger Williams Joins Fox News to Discuss Fort Hood Purple Heart Ceremony

April 13, 2015

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Roger Williams (R-Texas), whose district includes part of Fort Hood, joined Bill Hemmer on Fox News' America's Newsroom on Friday to discuss the Purple Heart ceremony at Fort Hood and legislation he helped push through Congress to allow the victims of the November 5, 2009 attack to receive Purple Heart medals.

"Today is a new beginning for these families and these victims," said Williams. "It gives us an opportunity to remind our soldiers everywhere across the world that America does love them, America appreciates what they've done."

Even though the legislation, which was included in the Fiscal Year 2015 National Defense Authorization Act, was signed into law the administration still considers the attack an act of workplace violence rather than a terrorist attack.

"We have fought this administration on a lot of issues, and if we have to fight them again we'll fight them again," said Williams.
