Today, Congressman Roger Williams (TX-25) released the following statement after the House passed a Continuing Resolution (CR) to fund the government along with House Armed Services Chairman Buck McKeon's (R-CA) amendment to equip the Free Syrian Army.
"Today our nation pauses to remember the tragic events of September 11, 2001 and honor the memory of the thousands of innocent lives lost thirteen years ago. We are also mindful of the second anniversary of the terrorist attack on our consulate in Benghazi that took the life of Ambassador Chris Stevens and three more Americans.
Congressman Roger Williams (TX-25), along with Congressman John Carter (TX-31), sent a letter to Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel demanding the Department of Defense (DoD) to follow through with a law requiring a Purple Heart review.
